Patrick O'Keefe, Principal

Mr. O’Keefe joined Excellere Partners in 2007 and has been a key team member for ASI Government, Medtech College/Institute and U.S. Water Services, the latter for which he serves on the board of directors. Previously, Mr. O’Keefe was an investment professional with H.I.G. Capital, a middle-market private equity firm and an Analyst at JPMorgan in their mergers and acquisition group. Mr. O’Keefe has executed transactions totaling over $1billion in his career across industry sectors including healthcare, industrials, business services, government services and education.

Mr. O’Keefe earned an MBA with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a major in finance. Mr. O’Keefe earned a BS in analytical finance from Wake Forest University.

Sonny Allison, a partner in the firm's business practice, focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance and securities.

Sonny regularly counsels public and private companies and private equity funds in corporate transactions, corporate governance matters and securities law compliance matters. He has extensive experience with public and private mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, tender offers and going private transactions, asset acquisitions and dispositions, initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, PIPE and 144A transactions, private placements and venture capital financings. He also has significant experience with cross-border transactions, having recently advised International Royalty Corporation (AMEX/TSX:IRC) in its $700MM acquisition by Royal Gold (Nasdaq:RGLD) and concurrent defense against an unsolicited tender offer by Franco-Nevada Corporation (NYSE/TSX:FNV), and the special committee of the board of directors of US Gold Corporation (NYSE/TSX:UXG) in its proposed $1.4B merger with Minera Andes Inc. (TSX:MAI).

He regularly works with private equity sponsors such as Excellere Partners, Inverness Graham Investments, Red Kite Capital, Hilco Equity and their portfolio companies, as well as private and public companies such as CAI International (NYSE:CAP), Nanometrics (Nasdaq:NANO) and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (Nasdaq:RMCF).

Sonny is a frequent speaker and author on mergers & acquisitions trends and issues faced by public companies and boards of directors. He is ranked by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business (Corporate/M&A), 2010 – 2011.

Sonny received his A.B., with high honors, from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
