![]() "Ka-ching! Mastering 7 Key Numbers To Drive Growth and Maximize Value." |
Jeff Prager Jeff Prager is the CEO of Backroom Management Services. He is a CPA and former CEO/CFO and owner of several successful multimillion-dollar companies. He was one of the founders of Ashworth Golf Clothing, the CFO/partner of a large land development company and the owner of Strauss Homes, which was once rated as the second largest private home builder in Colorado. Jeff also served as a teacher of managerial economics (applying economic theory to business decisions) at the University of Colorado at Denver. He retired in May of 2007, only to find out he was allergic to retirement. His 40 years of experience taught him one key fact about running a business: any business can be managed with far less effort, if the owner tracks his 7 Key Numbers. He developed the 7 Key Numbers system for internal transparency and control for his own companies, long before he thought about teaching it to anyone else. After he retired in 2007, he realized that the weak economy was making it critical for small businesses to improve their operations. He dedicated himself to helping businesses harness the 7 Key Numbers as a competitive weapon for improving business performance. Jeff's current company, Backroom Management Services, uses the power of the 7 Key Numbers to provide elegantly simple solutions for a business owner to manage, monitor, model and improve their business performance by giving them far more visibility and access to their numbers than ever before. These solutions are based on a proprietary web-based software that tracks both financial and operational transactions. By integrating accounting with a CRM module, job costing, scheduling, project management and time and billing, a business owner has the necessary insight into sales, marketing and production to effectively manage their business from leads to cash flow. Mr. Prager has taught courses on accounting, management and finance for the National Association of Homebuilders (HBA). He has also assisted in writing the business section for the "Certified Remodeler" designation, which is a program run by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
